Superintendent Greene is a proud supporter of the school communications and public relations industry. He and Kirsten Fitterer, Chief Communications Officer for the Yakima School District, have a relationship that fosters innovation and leadership to creatively support YSD principals, teachers, and students in the areas of communications and public relations. They worked together with district leadership, the community, and the school board to develop the district’s
strategic plan and remain diligent in its fulfillment.
Dr. Greene has enjoyed serving students throughout his career in a multitude of positions. He was a bilingual paraeducator, security guard,
teacher, assistant principal, principal, district administrator, and, now, a superintendent. As a principal, Dr. Greene was honored as the National Principal of the Year by the National Association of Secondary Principals and is currently a NSPRA National “Superintendent to Watch.”
Dr. Greene earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Brigham Young University, his Master’s degree and principal credential from Central Washington University, superintendent certification from Washington State University, and a Doctoral degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Washington. Trevor has been married for 30 years and has four children, the youngest of which is a high school junior in his district.
