Volunteer to judge WSPRA Awards

Greetings WSPRA Members,

Before COVID-19 arrived this winter, we all assumed we would finish out our year like we have so many in the past: In Leavenworth enjoying friendships, professional development, and our annual Awards Banquet. We sent out calls for awards submissions, and our members answered, entering more than 260 pieces of work.

Then, COVID-19 arrived, upending our plans for the spring. We put a vote to those who submitted work to the Awards Program, asking them to decide if we should forgo the award judging this year, or forge ahead with the understanding that the responsibility to judge would fall to members over the summer. Overwhelmingly, with a vote of 80% to 20%, members voted to move forward with the awards and volunteered to judge submissions.

Now, we are opening the call for volunteers to the wider WSPRA membership who did not submit awards. This is a great opportunity to provide constructive feedback to fellow communications professionals, and also gain amazing inspiration for projects, campaigns, and communications for your own department.

If you and members of your department are willing to judge, please take a few minutes to fill out the brief survey, so we can begin organizing the judging. Please know judging won't begin until after June 19.

Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you!
